The Buyur were master gene crafters, and much of their technology was made up of biological organisms bred and suited to specific purposes rather than machines.

Resembling large frogs, the Buyur were totally terrestrial and in fact highly disliked water. Their large hind legs were thick with musculature and allowed movement at high speeds.

During their life, many Buyur organisms wer perfected and became widely used across the Five Galaxies. Some of these include the privacy wasp (an organism designed to nullify unwanted electronic survaillence), and the parrot-tick (a parasite that can convey small messages unnoticed). There were rumors of an extraordinary experiment on Jijo with an organism that could actually read moods on any oxygen breathing lifeform. The Buyur never commented on this before they became extinct, and it is believed that the experiment ended when they left the Izminuti system..

The last colony of the Buyur before retiring to their homeworlds was Jijo, which is now attracting much attention due to the suspected sooner colonies living there.
