Hoon stand seven feet tall when fully bipedal, though they seldome do this due to the great weight of their spines. Hoon stand on cloven hoves on legs covered in thick hair. They have large hands and somewhat cumbersome digits although they are very strong and capable otherwise. The spinal column of the adult Hoon is massive and air-filled, serving as part of the circulatory system. The top of each vertebrae may protrude many inches above the back. This makes a fully bipedal stance awkward at best. Adolescent Hoon molt their spines as a sign of adulthood, and are considered adults once the permanent spines have grown in. Hoon have colonies of their own, but a large number live on colonies of other races and serve as administrators and civil servents. The Hoon care for one another above all else. One incident hundreds of years ago still has them flustered. Apparently a ship full of hundreds of Hoon simply vanished in hyperspace somewhere equivalent to Galaxy Four. |
